Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data GoNewGames ("GNG", "we", "us") collects, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Polish law.
1. Data we collect today
GNG is currently a simple browsing/comparison site. We only collect data you actively give us:
- Newsletter: your email address, together with the date/time you gave consent, if you subscribe to our newsletter.
- Contact form / email: whatever information you include when you email us or use the contact form (e.g. name, email, message).
- Cookies: see section 3 below.
We do not currently require account registration to browse the site. If in the future we introduce user accounts (e.g. to save favorites or a wishlist), this policy will be updated in advance to describe exactly what account data is collected and why, and we will only collect what is necessary for that feature.
2. Why we process your data (legal basis)
- Newsletter emails — based on your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
- Responding to your messages — based on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR).
- Non-essential analytics cookies — based on your consent, given via the cookie banner.
- Strictly necessary cookies — based on our legitimate interest in operating the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); these do not require consent.
3. Cookies
When you first visit GNG, a banner lets you choose between "Necessary only" and "Accept all" cookies.
- Necessary cookies — required for the site to function (e.g. remembering your cookie choice, basic security). These are always active.
- Analytics cookies — only set if you accept them. We aim to use privacy-friendly analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) that do not use cross-site tracking cookies or build an advertising profile of you.
You can change your cookie choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site and reloading the page, or through your browser's cookie settings.
4. Affiliate links and third-party sites
GNG links to third-party retailers (e.g. Fanatical, GOG, Green Man Gaming, Humble Bundle) using affiliate tracking links. When you click these links, the retailer (and their affiliate network) may set their own cookies and collect data according to their own privacy policies. GNG does not control and is not responsible for third-party sites' data practices — please review their privacy policies separately. We do not receive your payment details or store account information from these purchases; affiliate networks typically only report to us that a qualifying purchase occurred, for commission purposes.
5. Advertising
GNG may display third-party advertising. Ad providers may use their own cookies or similar technologies, subject to your cookie consent choice. We choose ad and analytics partners with an aim toward minimizing invasive tracking where possible.
6. Data retention
- Newsletter email addresses and consent timestamps are kept until you unsubscribe.
- Contact/email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle and, where relevant, follow up on your enquiry.
7. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers strictly necessary to operate the site (e.g. our hosting provider Cloudflare, our database provider Supabase, and our email/newsletter tool), each acting under their own data processing terms. We may disclose data if required by law.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers (e.g. hosting/CDN infrastructure) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on the provider's applicable safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
9. Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter)
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Poland: Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych, UODO)

10. Children's privacy
GNG is not directed at children. Some listed games are marked as containing mature content and are not intended for minors. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves (for example when account features are introduced). The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision.
